1. Positive Reinforcement Training for a Happier Dog
We believe positive reinforcement is the most effective way to train your dog. By rewarding good behaviour through:
- Verbal praise – e.g., “Good [dog’s name]!"
- Physical praise – e.g., patting the dog on the head, used in conjunction with verbal praise
- Treat rewards praise – offering a small training treat
…your dog will learn faster and develop a positive association with training.
2. Boundaries Setting
From day-one set clear boundaries for your furry friend eg: not go up stairs - do not break this just once'.
Simple words like “No” or “Not now”, can be highly effective.
A “naughty corner” or "time-out space" works well for certain dogs, especially those with strong-willed mindsets. They quickly learn that misbehaviour leads to a loss of attention from their handlers, which helps reinforce positive behaviours.

1. Train the Trainer Session
We’ve found that dogs tend to lose interest in sessions longer than 45 minutes. We deliver sessions either face-to-face (Sydney City) or via Zoom, we offer the following:
- 30-minute session: $220
- 45-minute session: $300
Aft After each session, your AADTS Trainer & Assessor will email the handler tailored Team Training Tips to support your progress and help ensure your team meets the standards required for public access under Australian guidelines.
2. Online Self-trained Dog Training Program
Complete training guide for the dog handler and their dog. AADTS, grants' the dog handler access to AADTS 'website private page material' consisting of:
