 We specialize in transforming client's current dog into assistance dogs, if the dog meets the clients 

disability requirements.

Choosing an assistance dog 

Clients who do not currently have a dog, we can assist to help you choose the right dog for the dog handler that would benifet their disabilities. 

Training Approaches

Both our training approaches are sueccesfully, whether you opt for the self-trained assistance dog traning programme or the  both offer effective and gentle, using positive reinforcement to build a strong, lasting bond between the dog handler & their assistance dog to be known as The Team throughout the document.

Basic Obedience Training

Application & Assessment

Initial Contact

During initial phone conversation with AADTS Training & Assessment Co-ordinator, who will ask several questions gathering information about the dog handler health and well-being and learn the need for an assistance dog. 

Dog handler will also be asked about their current furry family members breed, behavioural level and over-all health of the dog

If The Team during the conversation, meets the criteria for an assistance dog, a 15-minute 'face-to-face' or 'video call' will be scheduled to assess the compatibility between the dog handler & their assistance dog.

Stage 1.b Compatibility 'Face-to-Face' or 'Video Call'

 At the end of the 15-minute compatibility 'face-to-face' or 'video call', which evaluates the compatibility between the dog handler and their assistance dog, 

the handler will be informed whether The Team will progress to Stage 2, and if not why not.

Stage 2.b MP Form

AADTS requires an overview of the dog handler’s current health and wellbeing. This is obtained through a Medical Practitioner’s (MP) Approval Form, 

which must be completed by the dog handler’s treating health professional.

The form confirms that the MP supports their patient (dog handler) in having an assistance dog. It outlines the dog handler’s current health conditions, disabilities, and how an assistance dog would help improve their daily quality of life.

Stage 2.c VET Form

AADTS requires an overview of the dog current health and wellbeing. This is obtained through a 

Vetenarian (VET) Approval Form, 

which must be completed by the dogs' treating VET professional.

The form confirms the dogs' current health;

* vaccinations up to date

* NSW rat desease injection

* undertaking either a quarterly, or monthly flea, tick and worming

The form will also confirm the dog is healthy and is able to carry out assistance dog duties for the next 12-months.
